It is a total look team, photo, and digital live stream competition that includes color, cut, style, wardrobe and makeup.

Competitors must create a well-executed, inspirational and modern total look on a female or male model- color, cut and finish will be evaluated in each award category.
There are no restrictions or themes to follow.
During the Photo Entry Phase one representative from the Salon (who has permission from the Salon to enter) must visit www.colorstyletrophy.com and follow the links and instructions to complete and submit the registration form, including information about your Salon, and the names and email addresses, and functional role (Colorist, Hairstylist, Haircutter, Make-up Artist, Wardrobe Stylist) of each Team member.
Competitors can enter in multiple categories of their choice with the same or different model.
There is no entry fee for Color & Style Trophy. It is free to enter any competition category
No, you do not have to use the same model. As finalists, competitor teams are required to recreate the exact digital look for the live competition.
All image files must be in .jpg or .png format
You will receive an e-mail confirmation once your entry has been successfully submitted.
A panel of judges determined by L’Oréal Professionnel will select up to twenty Finalists for each Competition Category. Each Finalist Team will be invited to attend and compete in the Live Competition in New York, NY on June 24, 2018 for the applicable Competition Category.
People’s Choice Award nominees are the color & style award finalists.
After the finalists are selected, submissions of all selected Finalists will be posted on a gallery for public voting at www.colorstyletrophy.com. Any individual will be invited to vote for the Submission they believe has the most public appeal. Each person may vote one time during the Voting Phase.
Color & Style, Men's Image, and Young Talent Categories:
- Makeup and Wardrobe style (10%);
- Technical execution of the cut and style (see details of how hair cut & style are assessed below for the Styling & Cutting Category) (30%); and
- Technical execution of Color (see details of how color is assessed for the Color Category) (30%)
- Complete Look (30%)
- Color Placement (25%);
- Color Formula (25%);
- Technique (25%); and
- Complete Look (25%).
Styling & Cutting Category:
- Cutting Technique (25%);
- Color Placement (25%);
- Finished result (shine, texture, movement) (25%); and
- Complete Look (25%).
Real hair (non-synthetic) wefts and extensions are allowed, covering a maximum of 20% of the head. Full wigs are not allowed.

In all categories except for Young Talent award competitors must be 23 years old or older.
Yes, and you must be employed by a Salon that is also located in the United States.
There must be a minimum of three people per team, maximum five. Each team must include all of the following professionals who work at the Salon: Colorist, haircutter, hairstylist, makeup artist, and wardrobe stylist (individuals may cover multiple roles).
Yes, to qualify each team must submit in separate categories.
Yes, if not affiliated with any commission salon, booth renter and or salon suites.
Employees of L’Oreal Professionnel, USA Headquarters.
Employees of L’Oreal Professionnel USA Field Team – Division Brand Managers, and Education Development.
Co-opt employees of L’Oreal Professionnel and Salon Centric – Prestige Educators.
Commission salons, booth renter and salon suites, (referred to as a "Salon" within Official rules) may create one or multiple "Teams" within the same address of employment.
